Q: What size panels are typically used for bath surrounds?

One bath surround will typically take two 32″ x 72″ and one 60″ x 72″ size panel.

 

Q: What sizes are used most often for showers and feature walls?

The sizes most used for showers and feature walls are listed below. These stone panel sizes lend themselves to several different designs options. For example, with a 10′ high bathroom, by taking two panels of 60″ x 96″ and turning them horizontal, the design would create a paneled area of 120″ x 96″ with only one joint.

Q: Are Sorccia Surfaces stronger than 3cm slabs?

Yes. Los Angeles Sorccia Surfaces in are many times stronger than the same stone in a 3 cm slab, with the aluminum polymer and PVB backing they are only 1/8th the weight and many h1er.

 

Q: How are Sorccia SURFACES installed?

Our thin stone panels can be cut onsite using a diamond blade and are installed using a spray foam adhesive or various contractors adhesives depending on the application and project.

 

Q: Since the Sorccia SURFACES backing is smooth do I need to rough the surface?

No. The panels have been designed to not require any surface alterations. All that is needed is a clean, dry surface for recommended adhesives to work properly.

 

Q: Have the Sorccia SURFACES products been tested by an internationally recognized testing company?

Yes. They have been SGS tested. SGS testing is equal to ASTM testing, both are recognized in Canada and the United States as accredited testing facilities.

 

Q: Will the Sorccia SURFACES veneer come apart or separate?

No. The thin stone use patented adhesives. These adhesives are the same ones used in the aerospace industry, these have been proven not to delaminate.

 

Q: Will the panels ever rust?

No. All of our backings are rust proof.

 

Q: If the stone is porous (for example travertine) will moisture seep through the panel?

No. Our panels have been SGS internationally tested and are water resistant. Water cannot penetrate the backing which is an APB or PVC backing.

 

Q: Because the backing material is metal, do I need to worry about condensation?

No. As per SGS standards for temperature transfer tests, the panels act as an insulator and do not promote condensation.

 

Q: Will water ever get through the recessed soap boxes?

Not if installed properly. During installation all soap compartments will need to be sealed with a silicon adhesive. There are many choices on the market.

 

Q: Are the seams waterproof?

During installation, all seams should be waterproofed with the proper sealant adhesives.

 

Q: Are the Sorccia SURFACES manufactured to be at 90 degree angles?

Yes, fabricators can cut Sorccia panels at a 45 degree angle and miter the panels to create 90 degree edges.

 

Q: Are the Sorccia SURFACES environmentally friendly?

Yes. They are much more environmentally friendly than solid slabs:

  • The production requires less water and energy consumption
  • Less raw material is used
  • Shipping requires less packaging materials; three times more product fits in a container reducing shipping and less emissions during production.

 

Q: What are standard sizes?

The most common sizes are:
32″ x 72″
60″ x 72″
36″ x 96″
48″ x 96″
60″ x 96″
With custom orders, sizes can be as large as 60″ x 108″ and even larger in some stones.

 

Q: Is it possible to get book-matched panels?

Yes. While all stone have some variations, this modern technique for cutting the stone as thin as 3mm ensures book-matching and color consistency unmatched in the industry.

 

Q: How do you clean the panels?

Once installation is completed, acetone can be used to remove any residue. For regular maintenance, use hot water and a sponge. As this is real stone you can use your favorite stone care products on the market.

 

Q: How long does it take to receive a shipment of stone panels once an order has been placed?

In stock orders of stone panels from our Los Angeles company will arrive 1-2 weeks from receipt of purchase orders. Custom orders take approximately 10-12 weeks from receipt of purchase order.

 

Q: Are custom orders available? Do they take longer?

Yes. Most special orders may require a longer lead time depending on the stone color, as a larger minimum order may be required.

 

Q: How much do the pallets weigh?

Pallets are kept under 5000 lbs.

 

Q: How many Sorccia SURFACES fit on a pallet? How many pallets fit in a container?

Depending on the size of the panels, 35 – 50 panels fit on a pallet. A panel weighs approxmately 3.5 lbs per sq. ft. Approximately 6 pallets of panels of 5,000 lbs. fit in a container, plus trim and smaller items which can be top loaded.

 

Q: How do I become a Dealer?

Q: Do you have granite colors not shown on your site?

Yes. We can get most colors of marble, travertine, onyx and other slabs at our Los Angeles shop. Because much of the granite sold does not have standard names we might also require a picture or sample of the granite you are looking for.

 

Q: Can I order special sizes for project work?

Yes. These orders are quoted on an individual basis with a quote lead time of about 4-5 working days.

 

Q: Can you supply racks or A-frames?

Yes. You can purchase racks with any container load.

 

Q: Can you supply sinks?

Yes. We can top load your container order with sinks, stainless or ceramic.

 

Q: How do I arrange trucking?

We work with a company that brokers shipments of our Los Angeles stone panels throughout the US, full loads or LTL’s, always getting our customers the best trucking rates possible with companies experienced in delivering and handling natural stone.

 

Q: Do I have to order a full container?

No. Talk to us we may have another order which we can place with yours.

 

Q: How long does an order take to arrive?

From the point of order it usually takes between 8-10 weeks to arrive.
